    Brake Operator (2nd Shift)

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The Brake Operator is responsible for operating and setting up press brake equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to customer specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to troubleshoot forming issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Brake Operator will work collaboratively with team members to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Operate various sizes of brake press equipment to form metal components to specification.
    • Perform all necessary setup and layout of equipment, tooling, and jobs.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions accurately.
    • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
    • Perform forming operations to specified parameters while maintaining quality standards.
    • Troubleshoot and correct forming issues as necessary.
    • Log all production activity into the ERP system (JobBOSS).
    • Assist Cell Leader in quoting and evaluating new projects as needed.
    • Perform preventive maintenance on brake press equipment and tooling.
    • Assist with material handling and movement using forklift equipment as required.
    • Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all company safety procedures.
    • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 3 years of brake press operating experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
    • Experience operating Cincinnati Incorporated brake press equipment or similar machinery preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Strong understanding of measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers.
    • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
    • Experience with roll-forming equipment is a plus.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills and work effectively in a team environment.
    • Technical training or certification in machining or metal fabrication is a plus.
    • Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and a positive “Can-Do” attitude.
